Utility Equipment Consultants at the City of Ocala’s First Annual Vendor Fair

We pride ourselves on our dedication to quality services.

The Utility Equipment Consultants (UEC) admin team had the pleasure of attending the City of Ocala’s first Annual Vendor Fair at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place, hosted by the City of Ocala Procurement and Contracting Department. This event provided an excellent opportunity for businesses like ours to connect with key city officials and learn more about the procurement processes that support local business involvement in city projects.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the City of Ocala for organizing such an informative and engaging event. The Vendor Fair offered valuable insights into how we can participate in the city’s solicitation processes, with various city department staff on hand to share information about their projects and to answer our questions. Events like these are crucial for fostering strong partnerships between the city and local businesses, and we appreciate the efforts made to make this happen.

A special shoutout to the City of Ocala for the delicious Jimmy John’s subs that kept us fueled throughout the day, and for the warm, friendly atmosphere that made the event both enjoyable and productive.

Additionally, we were inspired by the presentation from Jackie Del Rio of CEI and FDOT DBE Supportive Services on the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. Her insights on starting the application process for becoming a DBE were particularly helpful and provided us with valuable tools to expand our participation in local and state projects.

Honoring Mary Sue Rich: A Pillar of the Ocala Community

The event took place at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center at Reed Place, a facility named in honor of a woman who has made an indelible impact on the Ocala community. Mary Sue Rich served as a City Council member for over two decades, where she worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Ocala’s residents. Her advocacy for education, housing, and community development has left a lasting legacy, making her a beloved figure in Ocala. The community center that bears her name stands as a testament to her dedication and passion for public service, providing a space for community engagement, recreation, and learning.

Once again, we thank the City of Ocala for their continued support of local businesses and for creating opportunities that allow us to contribute to the growth and development of our community. We look forward to participating in future events!
